Bach Kim expands to 108 looms, reaching 7,200 tonnes of finished products per year

Platinum Export Import Joint Stock Company (Bach Kim) has completed an expansion of its weaving capacity from 54 to 108 looms at its factory in Chau Pha commune, Ho Chi Minh City. Capacity now stands at 7,200 tonnes of finished products per year, equivalent to approximately 7 million bags per month.

Three times the 2022 capacity

This is the largest single investment since the company moved into direct manufacturing in 2015. Its capacity has grown in three steps:

  • 2018 – expansion from 18 to 30 looms
  • 2020 – expansion from 30 to 54 looms
  • 2026 – expansion from 54 to 108 looms

Annual output has risen from 2,400 tonnes to 7,200 tonnes — three times the 2022 level in the space of four years.

A fully integrated production chain

The factory covers 15,000 m² and runs 108 looms and 3 extrusion lines, staffed by 240 skilled workers and 15 management personnel. Every stage — tape extrusion, weaving, lamination and finished bag sewing — is carried out in house, giving the company direct control over quality and delivery schedules rather than depending on outside suppliers.

What this means for customers

The additional capacity allows Bach Kim to take on larger order volumes and shorten waiting times during peak season — particularly for agricultural and food customers, whose demand is concentrated around harvest cycles.

The company produces PP woven bags, BOPP laminated bags, PP woven fabric in rolls, FIBC/jumbo bags and PP–Mono strapping band, serving the domestic market and exporting to Japan, Taiwan, Thailand and Malaysia.
